Class experience
In this course students will learn how to make a simple wire wrapped ring out of a bead of their choosing. Student's are encouraged to get crystals rocks or chips with holes in them to make rings. In each class student's will share what rock/ or crystal they chose and a fun fact about it such as where they got it or a scientific fact about it. I will also share what crystals I am working with an an interesting fact about them. I am a patient encouraging and relaxed style of teaching. I always...
Students will learn how to wire wrap a ring with a bead/crystal with a hole.
1. 22 gauge and 24 gauge wire. Ideally I like to work with 22 gauge but some learners find the thinner 24 gauge wire to work with at first. You can get this wire in craft stores in the jewelry section or in the link below: 22 guage wire: https://www.amazon.com/Jewelry-Tarnish-Resistant-Supplies-Crafting/dp/B08B7WWT7H/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2MR3NBI5EZ6S&keywords=22+gauge+wire+for+jewelry+making&qid=1641675610&sprefix=22+gauge+wire+for+jewelry+making%2Caps%2C326&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzOFNUVVhSNjMwV08xJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMTExMDQ5MUZSTU1YQTM4OTRVRSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNzEyOTE5MUhZSjE0QlA4REFZWCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= 24 gauge wire: https://www.amazon.com/Beadalon-Artistic-24-Gauge-Copper-20-Yards/dp/B004CYFHQM/ref=sr_1_11?crid=3A7CDJCCK2HC4&keywords=24+gauge+wire&qid=1641675872&s=arts-crafts&sprefix=24+gauge+wire+%2Carts-crafts%2C230&sr=1-11 2. Stone/ Crystal/ or bead with a hole in it. 'Crystal Chips with holes' work well with rings. You can use any bead that is about 1-2 cm. The link below has some of the beads/ crystals I used in the photo but you can use any kind of bead that a 22 gauge wire could fit through. Crystal Chips with hole: https://www.amazon.com/Gemstone-Colorful-Irregular-Bracelet-Decorations/dp/B08L3TNMTJ/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1RDFA8UCAYINN&keywords=crystal+chips+with+hole&qid=1641676042&s=arts-crafts&sprefix=crystal+chips+with+hole%2Carts-crafts%2C125&sr=1-4 Turtle bead (in photo) https://www.michaels.com/bead-gallery-turquoise-dyed-reconstituted-stone-turtle-beads-18mm/10290833.html?r=g&cm_mmc=PLASearch-_-google-_-MICH_Shopping_US_N_Beads+%26+Jewelry_N_Smart_BOPIS_N-_-&Kenshoo_ida=&kpid=go_cmp-9982372294_adg-106296471768_ad-433378147584_pla-1340957257905_dev-c_ext-_prd-10290833&gclid=Cj0KCQiAieWOBhCYARIsANcOw0w54Fs9-IkykF8U_8ayChXGYFTQ-QCcisCpxArG4op6xaKtnizsxjAaAoX1EALw_wcB 3. Wire cutters, long noose pliers, and sand paper (nail file works). If you do not have wire cutters 'adult scissors' should work. The sand paper/ nail file is to smooth out the "pookies." Wire cutters, pliers: https://www.amazon.com/Jewelry-Pliers-Shynek-Wrapping-Supplies/dp/B07ZGFK411/ref=sr_1_2?crid=32E9KSD93TMXK&keywords=wire+cutters+pliers+jewelry&qid=1641676269&s=arts-crafts&sprefix=wire+cutters+pliers+jewlery%2Carts-crafts%2C121&sr=1-2 4. Ring sizer, this is optional. Student's can use their own finger or something with a similar circumference like a narrow drum stick or marker. Here is a link below for a ring sizer: https://www.amazon.com/Mandrel-Standard-Measure-Jeweler-Jewelers/dp/B08CCVBFR5/ref=asc_df_B08CCVBFR5/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459521893186&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3725108898757390666&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031269&hvtargid=pla-997055381647&psc=1
