Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 2
Are you looking for an engaging, hands-on class to keep your child busy indoors? This class is designed to help children ages 6-8 work on social skills while also keeping them busy with indoor projects to spark their creativity and imagination! We will spend some time each class practicing social skills, such as taking turns, raising our hands, and talking with our peers and teacher. Then we will learn about the topic for that week and students will create the project for that day. Students will work on designing STEM projects following the teacher's guidelines and steps. Students will be supported as needed by the teacher, but parent support off-camera may be needed. We will talk about what we created and share our projects with one another. Students will learn some science vocabulary, get to make predictions, and test out whether their predictions were right (when applicable). Students will also learn facts about some winter topics that will be covered in class. We will also play some winter games (when time allows) that apply what we've learned in class! Our games will reinforce the new vocabulary words that we learn together!
**Students will be playing Bingo in the first and third classes, so please print Bingo board and bring it to class. Bingo boards will be send to parents prior to class. Bingo board 1 will be send to students upon enrollment in class. If you are unable to print before class, you can make/write your own board at home of any ONE board on the attached PDF that is sent when student is enrolled.* Parent support with reading words on Bingo board may be needed for students still learning to read. :)
Here will be the topics for each class:
Class 1-Staying Warm in Winter (Jan. 10)--print Bingo board 1 and bring to class (no class on Jan. 17)
Class 2-Igloo's (Jan. 24)
Class 3-Snowflakes (Jan. 31)--print Bingo board 2 and bring to class
Class 4-Snowballs and Motion (Feb. 7)-bring both Bingo boards to class

**Children will be active participants during this class, but they are also expected to respect their peers and teacher by taking turns and listening to one another. I prefer for students to be un-muted during class so please help monitor background noise so everyone is able to hear one another and concentrate in class. Thank you for your support!**
**Let's have some fun this winter indoors! I hope to see you in class soon! :)
