Winter Drawing Class: Welcome Winter Snow Scene Faux Calligraphy Drawing Class
What's included
1 live meeting
1 in-class hoursClass Experience
To welcome the winter season, this art class is designed to give students a blend of hand-lettering and drawing. We will use various tones and hues of the winter season to create a snowbank, snow-frosted trees, and snowflakes in numerous shapes and sizes. We'll use modern calligraphy and hand-lettering skills to draw our winter greeting, "Welcome Winter." We always learn basic faux calligraphy skills at the beginning of class and walk through each piece of our drawing step-by-step. If students wish to add a snowman, sled, or other wintery-themed illustrations, perfect! Creative expression is highly encouraged and welcome! Card stock is preferred (but not required) for this class as we’re aiming to create a sturdy wall-art piece. Students can also choose color options they prefer most. ***Please note, some students may not have time to finish coloring their art piece in class depending on their optimal drawing speed. I will work at a steady pace and frequently gage where students are at during the lesson. It is my goal to help them finish their drawing, but sometimes this doesn’t allow for coloring completion before class is over. Thank you for understanding.***
Learning Goals
Students will work on following creative direction, realistic and creative drawing, balance of composition, and some color theory.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Science from Univeristy of Phoenix
I am a former Art Teacher and had the privilege of teaching Art for 2 years to K-8th grade students using various mediums and forms. A lot of my class instruction was teaching the art of drawing. Weekly, we drew various compositions ranging from seasonal landscapes, wild animals, nature, and portraits. Students enjoyed learning skills to create realistic drawings while adding as much flare and creative variation as they liked. Watching students enjoy making art and grow in their own confidence was truly a priceless gift. In addition to teaching art, I am an artist and have an art studio in my home. I've used my love for hand-lettering and design to start a business in 2015 selling products with my work. It's been so fun!
