Students have a regular opportunity to meet fellow readers and have dedicated time to read. This can get them into a habit of reading as well as give them an opportunity to finish a book over their winter break. They also can develop community as they share their recommendations and thoughts with others. The sessions will follow the same format each day but have different discussion questions. The meetings start with a short conversation where students share what they're reading as well as something about their books or their reading habits to learn from others. Then we have a dedicated half hour to read on our own. Everyone can choose the book they read during that time. The topic breakdown goes as follows: Monday: What are your favorite books? Tuesday: Where do you like to get your books and book recommendations? Wednesday: How do you track your reading list and the books you want to read? Thursday: Do you read more than one book at a time? Friday: Where do you talk about books? Book clubs? Book journal?
