Students will demonstrate improved comprehension skills, including the ability to analyze text, make inferences, and summarize main ideas. Students will expand their vocabulary by actively engaging with grade-appropriate words and phrases encountered in each text, as per the Common Core State Standards for Language (L). Students will continue to develop critical thinking skills by consistently analyzing characters' motivations, evaluating plot development, and interpreting themes. Students will continue to explore diverse perspectives and cultures represented in literature, making connections between their reading experiences and broader historical and cultural contexts.
