1-2 hours per week. Each week students will be assigned 6-7 chapters (about 50 pages) to read individually prior to coming to class. This reading outside of class will take about 1-2 hours per week (or 15-20 minutes per day).Class Experience

In this class we will be reading Book 1 of the Wings of Fire series: The Dragonet Prophecy. For each weekly class over the course of 6 weeks, students will be assigned 6-7 chapters to read prior to each class. In class we will discuss the events and our thoughts over the assigned chapters. Our discussions will be guided by pre-selected discussion questions and all students will be given many opportunities to participate with their peers throughout each lesson. Although each class will be guided by pre-selected discussion questions, students will also be given the opportunity to expand upon their thoughts about the weekly assigned chapters beyond these questions. Students do not need any prior knowledge of this series before starting this course, each student will be required to purchase their own copy of the book in order to complete the reading assignments and participate in the weekly discussions. Following is a schedule for each week's assigned chapters: Week 1: Prologue and Chapters 1-5 Week 2: Chapters 6-11 Week 3: Chapters 12-17 Week 4: Chapters 18-23 Week 5: Chapters 24-29 Week 6: Chapters 30-35 and Epilogue
Learning Goals
Students will be able to comprehend the contents of each week's assigned chapters and they will be able to analyze and discuss the week's chapters with their peers.
