Beginner Level
For this class, I will utilize the Wilson Reading System, which uses an Orton–Gillingham approach to reading instruction, and is very effective for struggling readers, especially those who have a language based learning disability, such as Dyslexia. I require that you schedule for no less than 2 sessions each week, preferably 3, so that the program can be adhered to with fidelity. This class runs in blocks of 4 weeks.
To ensure effective tutoring, the teacher suggests meeting 2x per week. Book additional recurring meetings after the initial purchase.Assessment
Frequency: includedDetails: I will administer the Wilson WADE, a reading assessment which allows me to determine where a child falls within the the Wilson Reading Program.
This class is designed to support students who have language based learning disability, such as Dyslexia. It can also be beneficial to those who have ADHD, ADD, and Autism who are not having success in learning to read via other programs.
