What's included
Class Experience
This is a flexible class. No live lessons will be scheduled. Students will interact weekly on the Outschool classroom with other students and the teacher by answering questions or showing their project for the week. Students will learn all about wild cats as we travel the world. Week #1 Students will learn all about wild cats native to North America. Come and learn about these cats in an interactive way online. The class includes discussion questions, videos, slides, quizzes, games, and more to learn about the cats. The classes are designed for a 45 minute class period that students can do at their own pace. Students will also have a fun Kahoot game to play to see how much they have learned from the class. Week #2 Students will learn all about wild cats native to South America. This class will focus on facts about cats native to South America. The class includes interactive features such as questions, videos, slides, games, and polls. This class is designed for a 45 minute time frame but students can take shorter or longer to get through the material. Students will learn how to fold an origami cat. Week #3 Students will learn all about wild cats native to Africa. This class will focus on facts about wild cats native to Africa. The class will go over facts using videos, questions, slides, quizzes, and games. Students will have a fun Kahoot game to play to see how much they learned during the class. Week #4 Students will learn all about wild cats native to Asia. This class will have facts about these wild cats. This interactive class will include videos, games, questions, and more. Students will learn how to fold an origami tiger. Students will share their completed projects and communicate with other students on the Outschool classroom weekly.
Learning Goals
Students will learn facts about wild cats in North America, South America, Africa, and Asia.

Students will need a few pieces of paper and scissors for the origami craft in 2 of the lessons.
Sources
We will be using nearpod. A link to nearpod will be provided in the class. Nearpod makes learning interactive and fun online. A link to a Kahoot game will also be included in the class.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a Masters in Education degree from Azusa Pacific University. I have a current teaching credential to teach all K-8 subjects, Reading Endorsement, K-12 music, and K-12 ESL. I have taken additional workshops on how to teach reading and writing to elementary students. I have taught reading and writing in public schools, private schools, and at homeschool co-ops over the past 20 years.
