Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5

In this popular animal science class, students will learn facts about Giant Pandas. We will explore and compare the habitat, characteristics, diet, family group and conservation status of giant pandas. I will be using a presentation created using photo slides and asking interactive questions that will also integrate elements of geography, math and vocabulary into an animal science lesson designed to motivate natural curiosity. I will also include two downloadable templates that will help...

1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of Giant Pandas, such as size, diet, habitat and characteristics. 
2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species like the giant panda. 
3. Students will learn why conservation of giant pandas is so important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species. 
4. Students will learn new vocabulary words related to the study of Giant Pandas in their natural habitat.

Homework Offered
Your  child may be interested in learning more facts about the topic of Giant Pandas and animal conservation. Great science enrichment for independent or homeschooled learners.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
There is not a formal assessment for this class. Students will be learning concepts of animal science along with the opportunity to develop additional math, geography, vocabulary and creative thinking while learning about Giant Pandas.
