Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
In this classroom activity, help animals from all over the world answer an important question: Where is my home? Catered to students this lesson plan will have students asking questions about what animals need to survive. Whether it’s food, water, or shelter, there are plenty of answers that will help students better understand plants, animals, and the earth.
The teacher will show various habitat pictures to students and ask students to think about names for each of the habitats, encouraging them to pretend they are scientists!
The teacher will show a picture of an animal and place the animal in a habitat that is not the animal’s habitat. Ask the students if the animal would be able to survive in the habitat. Explain to them what does it mean habitat and also give them a brief explanation of the basic needs. To relate this concept to a visual connection students will watch a slide show about different habitats. After the presentation, we will discuss the main highlighted point of the class habitat and explain that the four basic needs for living things are food, water, shelter, and love. Our discussion will be fun-filled and interactive so children can get attracted to the main topic habitat.

Ask the students to think about the habitats that do not exist in their community. A potential question would be: "Why do you think we don't have forests by our homes or the school? What is the weather like here? The teacher will guide students to think of climate and weather conditions, too. Children are going to answer that asked from the teacher and they will complete the match-up worksheets and also will draw their habitat which is a house with the teacher's directions. We will wrap up the class here.

Hello,

My name is Saima Maswood and I have worked as an elementary teacher for over 14 years. During my teaching career, I had the privilege of teaching elementary children in New York City. However, I have transitioned to becoming an online teacher, specializing in teaching English to children for the past six years. I have a Master's Degree in Education from St. Johns University and a certificate in teaching English as a Foreign Language. Currently, I am an ESL teacher. As a teacher, "I received more than 1200 five apple feedback from the parents". I am proud to say that Bengali is my native language and I enjoy designing Bengali language classes too.
I love to make my classroom fun and lively where children can get involved in different activities. I enjoy creating unique ideas for my classroom. I am excited to work with you and your child. I strongly believe they will succeed in my class.

In addition to teaching, I enjoy reading books, working out, and gardening. I look forward to seeing your child in my class. Thank you.
