Where in Africa?- An Interactive Scavenger Hunt Around the African Continent!
Class experience
Where in Africa can you go on a gorilla trek, see the pyramids, or hike Mount Kilimanjaro? Join me on an interactive scavenger hunt around Africa! As a continuation of my "Where in the World" class series, young learners will have the opportunity to explore the African continent while searching for different country specific items. During our virtual field trip, learners will go on a make believe airplane ride to six different African countries. Through a multimedia presentation that includes...
-Students will learn the names of six African countries. They will learn about one interesting sight in each country, as well as how to say a greeting in each country.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Clemson University and I have experience traveling all over the world. I specifically spent three months living in Africa, and I want to give young children an opportunity to see a small glimpse of what Africa has to offer! I love teaching young children and I have experience working as a preschool teacher. **Please note that this class is intended to be a broad overview of the African continent from a geographical standpoint and will not include cultural and social information.
2 files available upon enrollment-A printable handout will be provided prior to class that has six country specific pictures. We will use this handout during our class, and students will need a pencil or crayon to circle the pictures as we find them. -A second printable handout will also be provided to be used after class is over. This handout has the names of the countries we will visit and a space to match each country specific picture. After class, students may color and cut out the pictures and glue them to the country where we found them. **Please note that if you are unable to print these handouts out before class, your child will still be able to participate and have fun!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
