Practice using your Problem Solving Superpowers! In the previously listed class learners practice identifying a problem. This class will review and build on that skill by introducing three strategies for calming and refocusing to help solve a problem. The strategies practiced in this class are: Taking deep breaths Counting Naming the things "I see...". Problems happen and we “get stuck”, the goal of this class is to teach your learner ways to calm and refocus to help them feel less stuck. Learners will be introduced to these strategies through modeling with puppets and by playing a matching game. By the end of the class learners will be able to identify the three strategies and pick one they enjoy using. Learners will also be provided with printable tools they can use during the class and afterwards such as a Problem Solving Strategy Wheel. This is a great course for beginner Problem Solving Superheroes and for learners who have already taken the previous class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
This course focuses on problem solving skills which are useful across various settings and at all ages. I have had more than 3 years of experience teaching lessons regarding problem solving skills as a School Counselor. I have taught these topics using multiple different curriculum programs that align with most state standards for Character Learning or Social Emotional Learning. Previously, I spent time teaching a special education pre- school class where there was a heavy focus on character learning and problem solving skills which are broken down to help young learners practice and apply these skills in their day to day lives.
