In this last 90 min installment to the "What's Sewing On?" series, students will learn how to patch and darn holes in garments and fabrics

Class experience

Students will learn to apply fabric patches to torn fabrics and darning holes in fabrics using a darning mushroom and a darning egg
Students will need;
a pack of assorted needles - $1.99
thread (preferably in a similar color to the clothing you will mend) - $1.99
fabric pins - $1.99
4-6 in embroidery hoop - 10- 15 cm (wood is preferable, but plastic is fine) - $1.75
fabric - 2-3 1ft squares - $0-$9
--- any type is fine, but cotton broad cloth or muslin will work best (both can be found in packs of scrap fabric at most craft stores), old cotton sheets will also work well
mini or small binder clips - $1.59 - $7.79
seam ripper tool - $1.99
thimble - please opt for a silicone or leather one as they are much easier to use - $2.99-$4.99
Either embroidery floss or very thin gage yarn (message me if you need clarification) - $3.99
Darning Mushroom - $8.99 - $10.99
Darning Egg - $3.00 - $8.00
------- Both the Darning Egg and Darning Mushroom can be purchased on Amazon
ripped clothing - (it is possible and sometimes preferable to get clothes from Goodwill or another thrift store for purposes of practice)
a throw pillow that you don't mind also ripping

small scissors
large scissors

note; as far as the needles, thread, and pins are concerned, most mini sewing kits have pretty much everything needed for this class (tools wise) - $1.99 - $11.99
This class will involve sharp tools such as needles, pins, and scissors. While injury is highly unlikely, it is possible. Having an adult in the house would be preferred.
Please note: Supervising adults must stay off camera for the duration of the class
