This class will meet on a weekly basis and discuss current events in the United States. Topics will be chosen by a master American educator who knows what topics students will need to understand in order to impress high school and college admissions counselors in America. In additional to government and news trends, pop culture news will be discussed. Example topics include: -Upcoming elections -Elon Musk and his influence on American Government -New movies and music that are being released -Updates on what the government is doing in the United States
Learning Goals
By the end of the lesson, students will have increased their knowledge of American culture and current events.

Hi, I'm Charlotte! I have been a licensed North Carolina educator since 2015. While my original license area was high school science (all science subjects, grades 9-12), I also hold licenses in the areas of English Instruction for English Language Learners (K-12), Exceptional Children (K-12), General Education, all subjects (K-6), and School Administration (all ages). I hold the Masters of Science in Education (from Johns Hopkins University), the Masters of School Administration, and the Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree. I am currently working on my doctoral dissertation in educational research/applied math and statistical analysis. I have won many awards and am well-respected in my field and among my peers. I won the New Teacher of the Year Award (2017) for the National Science Teacher Association (the second largest association of educators in the world!). I have been brought in to consult by the State of North Carolina on science standards and am an item writer for End of Course tests. I love helping children of all ages learn English. My goal is to provide affordable access to the highest quality English instruction available. I love to travel and have traveled extensively throughout East Asia.Reviews
