Class Experience

US Grade Preschool
S.T.E.M. is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. It involves solving problems, asking questions, and exploring our environment. 
1.	We will use our ears to listen to music and dance. HEARING, Technology, Math (Teacher will provide)
2.	We will use our hands to stack items as high as we can. TOUCHING, Engineering, Math (provided by parent)
3.	We will use our nose to smell flowers or fruit. SMELLING (provided by parent)
4.	We will use our tongue to taste our food. TASTING (small snack provided by parent)
5.	We will use our eyes to view something from nature. SEEING, Science, Technology (provided by teacher)

My teaching style is typically following the lead of the child, yet with guidance. We will sit down and/or stand in front of the computer. Children will need a space big enough to build (desk will suffice). We will also sing, listen to music, answer questions and watch a short clip. We have the following class rules:
•	We have Listening Ears
•	We keep our cameras on
•	We use Safe Hands and Safe Feet
•	We use Nice Words with teachers and other students
•	We will Have Fun while learning
Parents please be sure to make your student aware of the class rules prior to signing up. No prior knowledge is needed to sign up for this class. Thank you

Vocabulary: Tall, Short, Long, Wide, Big, Small, Sweet, Salty, Sour, Spicy, Stinky, Color, Bumpy, Smooth, Hard, Crunchy, Chewy, Soft, Loud, Thumbs up, Thumbs down, categories/total: I like, I don’t like. 
We may or may not cover all words or phrases. It will depend on the presented items.

Supply List
Please provide your child with the following for their class session:
•	Blocks -something to stack high.
•	Fruit that has a scent (i.e. Lemon-orange: cut in half) or a flower that has a scent (i.e. Rose)
•	Small snack that a child can talk about (i.e., crackers, fruit snack, veggie) placed in a small baggie or plate.
