This class is designed for soon-to-be adults to help them appreciate from a medical perspective, the act of sexual intercourse, the effects on the body, and the range of consequences in order for them to appreciate the seriousness of engaging in the act. Students will learn, from a medical perspective, the act of sexual intercourse, the effects on the male and female body, and the range of consequences from hormonal to conception to infections, in order for them to appreciate the seriousness of engaging in the act.
I'm a family medicine doctor, with experience with all ages of patients including adolescence and young adults. I have guided many an adolescent through sexual issues or questions that were awkward for them but my biggest asset has always been my ability to communicate and create a comfortable environment, thus my adolescent patients always come back with more questions! Through my medical training, clinical experience and my love for children, communication and teaching, I have the tools to make this course a valuable experience for the learners.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
All information imparted will be medically accurate. The intention is to create an appreciation for the seriousness of the decision to engage in the act and I believe accurate information can do that. The course is not designed to instil fear in any way but also not designed to encourage engaging in sex. It is only designed to give accurate medical information. While the objective is to cover sexual intercourse if questions arise about oral sex or related, medically accurate answers will be given. This applies to any other questions as well. I expect a lot of curiousity and encourage it. I believe that accurate information can only help as they transition into adulthood, rather than misinformation.
