US Grade 2 - 9
In this self-paced essay writing class, the student will follow the writing process to write an essay about their favorite video game. Each week the teacher will post a lesson that will help the student write and revise their essay. The teacher will work with the student to plan, draft, revise, and edit their essay. The student will also receive feedback from the teacher for each draft. The student will also participate in a fun quiz game (Kahoot!) to practice grammar skills. Lesson 1: Prewriting and Planning/Drafting the Rough Draft Lesson 2: Revising (first draft due) Lesson 3: Editing (second draft due); Kahoot Quiz games Lesson 4: Publishing (sharing the final draft) In this class, the student will write an essay about a high interest topic: their favorite video game. This class is designed to give the student practice in essay writing and to build their writing confidence, as well. Since we are practicing writing an essay, students should already know how to write a paragraph.
