Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Beginning our class with introductions and an affirmation to set the tone for our learning environment; we will then be utilizing heavily researched/studied slides to introduce our learning objectives and key points of the lesson. In this class we will focus on the history behind the holiday Memorial Day.  Through a guided discussion and short video presentation from the historical minds the are credited with the historical find associated with Memorial Day we will explore a variety of topics like; the Civil War,  why soldiers were fighting, as well as the importance of celebration for the American culture. In our discussion learners will have the opportunity to not only gain new knowledge on American history and Memorial Day but also share their thoughts and opinions around the subject. To recap all that has been learned, a variety of worksheets that highlight vocabulary and summarizing the material are provided for learners.

This class does discuss brief topics of death, imprisonment, war, racism, segregation, and mass graves.
