Leadership is an important skill to learn, and the younger it is taught allows for the individual to develop their individual leadership traits, skills, and strengths! In this one time class, we will be learning leadership skills geared towards younger learners. We will begin with introductions, and then we will move onto a discussion from each learner giving me their own individual definition of leadership and what it means to be a leader. Then we will move onto our leadership game which is a fun sort in the form of a T-chart that I will be adding items to during the game. The game allows for interactions between the learners in the class. I will teach by using guided discussion, modeling, and some direct instruction. From being an experienced teacher, I know that elementary students learn best by engaging lessons and fun activities. In this type of class an out leadership, it is even more beneficial for the learners to have interaction with each other during the lesson and the leadership game. Learners do not need to come with any prior experience or background. They just need an open mind and willing attitude!
Learning Goals
Learners will learn specific leadership skills. They will communicate these leadership skills with me, as the teacher, and the group.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Teaching is one of my passions, and I am so excited to be able to share my passion through this platform!
As an experienced and current classroom teacher, I have an Undergraduate degree in English Literature with a minor in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee Knoxville as well as a Masters degree in Teacher Education specializing in Urban Multicultural Education.
I have taught both Kindergarten and Third Grade for a total of 7 years, but I have experience with all ages of elementary school through 6th grade. I absolutely love all of the content for elementary and plan to gage my classes to be geared to engaging children with sight words, letter and sound recognition, number words, color words, multiplication facts, fractions, fiction and nonfiction book studies, and much more! There’s so much joy I find in the content of elementary curriculum, and it sets the foundation for an incredible journey of learning!
I have the strong belief that children learn their absolute best through building strong relationships and develop the love of learning through engaging lessons and activities. I love it when students begin to understand a new topic or the light bulb comes on! I know that as a teacher I am also a lifelong learner, and I love being able to learn new things each and every day.
I have a love of fitness and overall wellness! I hope to someday develop classes geared towards overall health, eating habits, and wellness for children as it is something I am passionate about and am continuing to also learn more about each day!
My husband and I had our first child, Connor, in May 2020, and we are loving the new parent life!
