Class Experience

We will begin class with reading the book,"Snowmen at Night" by Caralyn Buehner. Before, during, and after the story I will ask questions to check for comprehension. Students may color their snowman pieces while the story is being read to them. We will discuss what they noticed in the book and what their favorite part of the book was.
Once the class discussion is finished, we will begin on the class snowman craft:
The students will be guided on how to glue their snowman together. If the students feel comfortable, they may share their snowman to the class.
Learning Goals
The students will be asked questions before, during, and after the story. This will help them with their comprehension, predicting, and elaboration during the class discussion.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Justina Buckley and I can't wait to meet your learner in my class! I live in Cincinnati, Ohio with my husband of 4 years, 2 1/2 year old daughter, and little baby boy who was born on November 2nd.

I graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with my Bachelor’s in Educational Psychology. I’m a certified K-12 special eduction teacher specializing in children with mild to moderate disabilities.

I was public school special education teacher for 6 years teaching grades 4th and 5th reading, writing, and math. Also for the last year I’ve been an online ESL teacher for students ranging from ages 4-14 years old.

Since being a special education teacher, I know there are so many different ways students learn and I know not every student learns in the same way. My true passion is reading and writing for grades K-5. I love exploring new books with my students and seeing their creativity come out in their writing!

I hope to see your learner in one of my classes soon!
