Students will be learning how to play the song "We're Going to Be Friends" by the popular band, The White Stripes. This song is very fun to play and is all about going back to school! Difficulty Level: Easy - Medium While this song is on the easier side, it will likely present a challenge for brand new guitar players. **** This is not a "first day of guitar" style of class. If you are interested in an introductory course, please check out my "Tune Into Music" class. **** This course is suited more for the guitarist who has already learned how to play a chord. This song will use the G major, C major, D major , and A major chords. Students are not expected to already know how to play all of these chords, but knowing how to play one or two of them will certainly help. Students will also be provided a chords & lyrics sheet that we will follow throughout the duration of the class. Please have the sheet either printed out or available for viewing on a device beforehand. (I will also screen-share)
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to transition from one guitar chord to another and also learn a new fingerpicking technique.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Hope International University
I teach guitar, ukulele, beginning piano, and drums!
I’ve been teaching private lessons for the better part of ten years.
As a self taught musician - turned - instructor, I aim to present learning music as less of a task and more of a gateway into the world of art as a whole. Sure, I tried the beginners books and things of the like. But what really fanned the flame was learning a song that I already enjoyed by a band I already loved. I take the same approach in my teaching. I want to, as quickly as possible, have the learner playing songs they will enjoy.
