Class Experience

In this ongoing club students will do a book study on the book "How They Croaked: The Awful Ends of the Awfully Famous" by Georgia Bragg for 19 weeks. This book looks at all the strange, silly, and icky ways famous historical characters died. We will do a chapter a week and the chapters are each about a different historical character. The publisher gave us permission to read the chapter in class though every student must have their own copy of the book to participate. If you cant get a copy of the book, then I suggest you take my one-time class, Weird and Wacky History: All the Strange, Silly, and Icky Parts of the Past. The one time class does not require a book.

After reading together we will discuss it and other historical events about that person's life. A wide range of history from Ancient Egypt to the 1950’s will be covered in this class.
This class will be a mix of read aloud, lecture, and discussion.

Week 1: King Tut: Back Up the U-Haul
Week 2: Julius Caesar: Putting the "I" in "Ides"
Week 3: Cleopatra: #1 Across
Week 4: Christopher Columbus: Death by Dirt
Week 5: Henry VIII: Who Not to Marry
Week 6: Elizabeth I: She Kept Her Head About Her
Week 7: Pocahontas: Royal Hostage
Week 8: Galileo Galilei: Staying Alive
Week 9: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Every Good Boy Does Fine
Week 10: Marie Antoinette: I Did Not Do It on Purpose
Week 11: George Washington: Little Mouth of Horrors
Week 12: Napoleon Bonaparte: I Hate Islands
Week 13: Ludwig Van Beethoven: Between Those Ears
Week 14: Edgar Allen Poe: Oh, Woe is Poe
Week 15: Charles Dickens: A Tale of Two Brains
Week 16: James A. Garfield: James Who?
Week 17: Charles Darwin: What, Me Worry?
Week 18: Marie Curie: You Glow, Girl
Week 19: Albert Einstein: Einstein = Massive Cranium?
Every student must get a copy of this book to take the class. Thanks for helping me stay within copywrite.
