Class Experience

Hello Parents and Students,
In this social game, we will play the game 'Would You Rather' for a fun and silly time. During the time students will be building confidence, making decisions, and working on social skills while having a fun social time. It would be a fun brain break after a day of school or around lunch time.

We will open up every class with introductions and then begin our game. 'Would You Rather' is a game that presents the student with a question with 2 different answers. The student will have time to think and then present their answer to the class. There is no pressure. This is for fun. As the teacher, I will prompt students with conversations based on their answers. The students will then give their answers as we dive into deeper discussion of the questions given. Students will be given the opportunity to give an answer to each question.

Our agenda for this 30 minute class:
-Introductions and explanation of the class (5 minutes)
-Game: 8-9 Question and discussion time. We will spend about 3 minutes on each slide. Every student will have the chance to answer each question. (18 Minutes- There will be anywhere from 5-8 questions per class based on # of participants.)
-Conclusion: Each student will have the opportunity to share their own 'Would You Rather' question. (7 minutes)

My Personal Class Policies:
- Classes need to have at least two learners in order to facilitate a rich discussion. Low enrollment will result in a refund or a transfer of the learner, at the option of the parent.
- Learners need to follow classroom expectations and be respectful to others.
- For security reasons, learners must show themselves on the camera for a moment at the beginning of class to verify their identities.
- Be prepared for class as I love to interact with everyone.
-There is always the possibility of a good discussion extending past the class end time. Learners should not feel obligated to stay past the schedule time.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their listening, problem solving, and conversational skills . Students will gain confidence and and listening skills while socializing with other students of similar interests.

I am bursting with Ideas to begin teaching for Outschool. Currently, my daughter is working through a Harry Potter themed home school curriculum. I would love to do classes based on books and movies that we enjoy! Also, my family lives a holistic homestead life. I would love to teach classes that pertain to my homestead passions such as; backyard chickens, gardening, foraging and herbs, and crafting and knitting!

I believe that a child's interest guides their learning. I also believe that learning is best achieved when a child is having fun and truly interested in the topic. I strive to provide an environment that is fun, exciting, and meets the learning styles of many different students! I hope that I could be a small part in your student's educational journey! I look forward to learning with along with you!

When you come into my classroom I want you to expect an enthusiastic and fun class. Low teacher to student ratios. Mostly an overall fun time where you have a place for your voice to be heard!
