Weekly Toddler Learning Time - Colors, Songs, and Phonics
In this ongoing course, we will learn through songs and short spurts of information presented in an engaging way. We'll spend this time varying between singing nursery rhymes, practicing some phonics, and identifying colors.

Let's learn and play! The kids will: - Learn and practice letter sounds as a foundation for phonics-based reading - Practice identifying colors using colored paper, blocks and toys - Participate in sing-along segments with much-loved nursery rhymes like Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Mary Had a Little Lamb, and more. My hand puppet friends and I will help the little ones practice and repeat these key concepts. Each week we will cover at least two or three of each: colors, single letter sounds, and nursery rhymes or children's songs. Here are some examples of what a session might include: - Example 1: We will sing Old MacDonald Had a Farm and Baa Baa Black Sheep, practice the sounds for O, A, and R, and identify the colors black and white - Example 2: We will sing Hickory Dickory Dock and Pat-a-cake, practice the sounds for U, N, and T, and identify the colors yellow and pink - Example 3: We will sing Humpty Dumpty and Little Bo Peep, practice the sounds for E, M, and P, and identify the colors blue and brown - Example 4: We will sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and Jack and Jill, practice the sounds for S, T, and I, and identify the colors red and green Over time, certain songs, colors, and sounds may repeat, which is beneficial for learning and retention.

Students will practice foundational skills that prepare them for future learning.

Supply List
It may be useful to have colorful objects nearby to reinforce what the child sees on screen with me. I will notify parents a few days before each session to let them know what colors and sounds we will discuss in the next session.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
