Every week insect lovers will have the opportunity to meet friends and learn about a new insect. I am an entomologist and I love fostering the love of insects in entomologists in-training. When discussing a new insect, we will focus on its adaptations, its environment, lifecycle, its interactions in the wild, and many other fun facts. We will also be checking out most of the insects under a microscope together! Learners will be encouraged to take notes on what we are learning through a nature...
Students will be learning about the world around them through the lens of an insect. Topics covered will include but not limit: predator/prey relationships, mutualism, camouflage, defensive mechanisms, communication, pheromones, life cycles, food sources, migration, overwintering patterns, environments, adaptations, cause/effect, pollination, etc.
Ms. Trisha graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Entomology.
No homework will be assigned. If a student would like to spend some time outside, they can come to class with a buggy story, an insect, or a picture to be identified.
This class is not graded.
