In this weekly Cantonese class, students will learn beginner vocabulary words by weekly themes. It might be sports, animals, holidays, family, and shapes and colors.

Do you want your little ones to speak more Cantonese? Or learn a new language? Learning more than one language can improve memory, improve performance in other academic areas, and even enhance the ability to multi-task! Group classes are a great benefit for children to learn from one another, act as each other's role model and develop social skills. In this weekly course, students will learn basic vocabulary based on weekly themes. Classes will include visuals, songs, games, drawings, and even show and tell. Every student will have a chance to practice and work on their pronunciation. Students will have time to interact socially. After this class, students will gain an interest in Cantonese! Class Weekly Themes: (Week of) Aug 5- Numbers Aug 12- Colors Aug 19- Shapes Aug 26- Weather Sept 2- Summer Sept 9- Mid-Autumn Festival Sept 16- Fruits Sept 23- Vegetables Sept 30- Places Oct 7- Clothes Oct 14- Emotions Oct 21- Pizza Oct 28- Halloween Nov 4- School Nov 11- Fairy Tales Nov 18- Hobbies Nov 25- Pets * Themes will be updated monthly If there are other times you prefer, please message us. Students can join starting from any week. 1 on 1, sibling classes and flex class (pre-recorded lessons) are also available. Worksheets will be provided every class for students to use in class and after class. (If printing is not possible please bring a blank sheet of paper) No prior knowledge of Cantonese is needed. Class will be in both English and Cantonese. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MEET OUR TEACHER: TEACHER ANGEL 👧 ABOUT: Teacher Angel is a language tutor with experience teaching children aged 3–17. She creates engaging and fun lessons to spark a love for learning in young learners. CREDENTIALS: ⭐ Bachelor of Arts (Hons) majoring in Chinese Studies & Psychology from The University of Hong Kong ⭐ 6+ years of teaching experience in both Cantonese and Mandarin TEACHING STYLE: 👩🏫 Her classes are playful and nurturing, designed to match the energy and curiosity of young learners. 👩🏫 She focuses on interactive activities, visual aids, and hands-on practice to help children build language skills in an enjoyable and supportive environment. FUN FACTS: 🐈 She has two cats who may occasionally make a guest appearance during class! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENROLLMENT DETAILS: When learners can't attend class, there are a few options: 🔔 Most students will keep their subscription and can watch the recording for that week and complete the worksheet when they have time. 🔔 If the teacher offers other sections, you can switch to another section. However, your spot will not be saved in your original section. 🔔 You can pause the class. However, Outschool cannot save your spot. (Outschool charges every Sunday for the coming week's classes.) Hello! Welcome to Joyful E-Learning!
I’m Joanne, the founder. I was born in Hong Kong, moved to Canada, and returned to Hong Kong after graduating from the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree. Currently, I am based in Canada. With over 10 years of teaching experience and growing up in a bilingual family, I have deepened my understanding of the obstacles faced in learning both languages. I draw upon my experiences to help children improve in both languages.
At Joyful E-Learning, we offer different types of classes: 1:1 sessions, group sessions, and pre-recorded classes.
