In this engaging weekly art camp, young artists will explore the joy of drawing adorable cartoon characters through a structured and imaginative curriculum. Each week features a new theme to spark creativity: WEEK 1: Weather Wonders – Draw charming rainbows, sunny skies, fluffy clouds, and playful lightning bolts. WEEK 2: Delicious Delights – Illustrate mouth-watering treats like donuts, cupcakes, and cookies. WEEK 3: Fantastic Animals – Create cute critters such as foxes and unicorns. WEEK 4: Nature’s Beauty – Sketch lovely plants and nature scenes, including cacti, flowers, and houseplants. Guided step-by-step, students will begin with basic geometric shapes to build their characters, adding cute details like big eyes and tiny smiles. As the art pieces come to life, students will learn to color with crayons, colored pencils, or markers, exploring techniques for shading and texturing. Our creative environment nurtures imagination and artistic growth, allowing students to develop their unique style and have fun along the way. Other Details
Supply List
Students will need either a sketchpad, or 5-10 sheets of drawing or printer paper. Pencils and erasers are a must. Coloring utensils can be crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers. A Sharpie marker is optional. Students can frame their artwork by stapling or taping it to a larger sheet of colored construction paper (also optional).
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Since 2005, Rozine taught cartooning classes to elementary-aged, inner-city children in Chicago and Los Angeles. She is the illustrator, author, and publisher of several all-age coloring activity books. She creates a relaxing atmosphere, encouraging connection amongst others, as well as confident self-expression.
