Teacher expertise and credentials
I've been teaching grades K-12 for over a decade and have used this curriculum with a multitude of ages. This curriculum has been used and modified over the years so that it will set students up with the tools they need to be successful in creating their own works of art. In addition to teaching art, I am a professional painter and I use these same tools to create my art. My approach to teaching is hands-on, exploratory and creative. I like to begin by demonstrating the basic skills, having students demonstrate the basic skills and then allowing them to apply those skills to a creative project. I meet students where they're at and my goal is to grow their skills and their confidence so they feel empowered to tackle their own projects outside of class.
