US Grade 6
In this ongoing course, students will learn various 6th grade math concepts. Although I teach the concepts in a progressive order, these classes will not build upon each other, so your student can join in at any time! I love to teach math concepts using fun hands on activities, games, and even food! For each lesson, I will teach a skill, students will do an activity/practice the skills with the class, then the students will have an opportunity to do individual practice. Providing positive reinforcement is very important to me while I am teaching my classes! I want students to feel successful and be able to practice skills in a positive and fun environment! I will give your learner specific and positive feedback so that they can fix mistakes if needed and celebrate their successes! Here is a list of concepts that will be taught each week: (I will update this as more weeks are added!) Parental Guidance
I love incorporating the website Nearpod in my classes. Nearpod is a presentation tool that allows the students to interact with my presentation. Learners are able to do activities such as matching pairs, fill in the blanks, collaboration boards, quizzes, and even games. Learners do not need an account or login to use this resource. To access this resource learners can either bring a separate device to class or they can open a new tab in their browser.
Supply List
Various school supplies will be needed for our lessons such as: crayons, colored pencils, scissors, paper, rulers, and a pencil. I will post a message in the classroom with which supplies will be needed for each week. I will also upload attachments in the classroom for any activities or papers that need to be printed.
