Class Experience

Welcome to the hit new TV series Wednesday. Throughout our 12 weeks together we will be working on episode one pulling it together as a group with you as the lead actors!

We will be working on different seems so that all actors are able to play their favourite characters. Our teaching styles very interactive and you get to interact with each other and with the teacher all the time.

What to expect in each class:
We will always start with an improvisation warm-up, followed by a brief lecture on today’s topic and then working in our groups putting together the pieces so that we can perform at the end of every class. You will be expected to do some outside work such as memorization in order for a successful class.

Week 1: Welcome to class. Introductions from the teacher and students. And then we will talk about the episode and get into our very first table read. What a table read is, is when we are assigned roles for the purpose of reading the entire script to get a feel for what’s going on. The teacher will be responsible for narrating the backstory.

Week 2: Starting with improvisation warm-ups and then getting into our scenes. You will first start off with a brief lecture on today’s acting technique that we will be working with putting it into our characters and scenes to bring them to life. We will cover script analysis part one today. We will take what we learn and perform.

Week 3: Starting with improvisation warm-ups and then getting into our scenes. You will start off with a brief lecture today on part two of script analysis part 2. You will now take what you’ve learned from the last week and today’s class and put it into action performing.

Week 4: Starting with improvisation warm-ups and then getting into our scenes. Today’s lecture will be focussed on taking everything you’ve learned in script analysis and learning how to put that into action as you focus strongly on what you were fighting for, a.k.a. what it is you want from the other character. We will be talking about high stakes today.

Week 5: Starting with improvisation warm-ups and then getting into our scenes. You will start off with a brief lecture today on character development. You will take what you have learned and start to create a more three dimensional character.

Week 6: Starting with improvisation warm-ups and then getting into our scenes. You will start off with a brief lecture today on relationship development. Then take what you’ve learned and put that into the script on top of everything else that you’ve learned.

Week 7: Starting with improvisation warm-ups and then getting into our scenes. Today’s lecture will be focussed on reacting to your scene partners. You will learn to digest what is being spoken to you and react accordingly.

Week 8: Starting with improvisation warm ups and then getting into our scenes. Today’s lecture will be focussed on subtext. You will learn how to read between the lines which will allow you to become a more three dimensional actor. At this point it really starts to come together where you are using everything that you’ve learned up until today.

Week 9: Starting with improvisation warm-ups and then getting into our scenes. Today’s lecture will be focussed on sub text part two. We will be focussed on ensuring that we have thoughts in between our lines. This will allow you to learn to slow down your speaking.

Week 10: Starting with improvisation warm-ups and then getting into our scenes. Today’s lecture will be focussed on making an entrance and how to do that in different ways.

Week 11 & 12: We will be focussed on putting the episode together between this week and the final week. You guys have done so much work at this point and we are very proud of you and can’t wait to perform all of this.

Our teaching style is very positive and nurturing, we believe students need to have a safe place where they can express themselves so they are able to perform at their best.

No Acting experience necessary to join this program.
