Webquests are a great way for learners to explore a subject with exciting themes! They will be empowered to make choices while challenged to gather information in an organized manner to create an in-depth presentation to share with the class at the end of the 4 sessions. This is the first part of a 12-part series studying the Olympian Gods from Greek Mythology. In each 4-week course we will take a deep dive into one of the twelve Olympian Gods. This part will focus on Zeus. Day 1- Introductions and beginning research. Today's task is to learn about the god and fill out a profile sheet. Day 2- Continue research and write. Today's task is to write a journal-style explanatory essay about the god. Day 3- Decide and create a visual presentation. Today's task is to choose a visual presentation and create it. Day 4- Share and evaluate. Today's task is to share your work and evaluate yourself and others. The teacher will explain the WebQuest and the task of each day. The teacher will be available to guide, answer questions, and brainstorm through each session. Learners are encouraged to interact with each other and the teacher while working. Work not finished in class should be completed between classes. The visual presentation on Day 3 will likely require work after class. Templates for the profile sheets and journal-style explanatory essays will be provided in Google Doc or Slides and printable pdf format.
