We are Presidential Writers! We will read a short information or story about each president on Mount Rushmore; Washington Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt. Learners will explore a descriptive writing skill and write within a different genre of each day as follows: Day 1: Informational Writing, Descriptive Writing Day 2: Narrative or Fictional Narrative Writing, Character Description Day 3: Opinion Writing, Setting Description Day 4: Fantasy Writing, Item Description Learners will be provided with a prompt each day and will be encouraged to discuss ideas for writing in class. They are encouraged to share their writing at the end of class, but are not required. No controversial topics will be discussed in this class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn basic information about historical presidents and write within four different genre's; information, narrative, opinion and fantasy.

Supply List
A composition journal, spiral notebook or paper. A pen or pencil. A smile and creativity.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
As a third grade teacher of 10 years, I am certified to teach multi-subjects including Social Studies. Social Studies is one of my favorite subjects to teach; government and current events, specifically. I LOVE teaching young writer's and have a goal to instill the love of writing in all children I teach.
