Beginner - Intermediate Level
This ongoing class meets once every week. We will paint spring plants and animals. Each week is charged as a subscription on Sunday mornings. This class is designed for students who want to learn the art of Watercolor Painting. Students will start a new project every week and have a chance to progress throughout the series. Basic artistic concepts pertaining to the medium will be covered, such as Transparency, Composition, basic Color Theory, and Value. A fundamental, hands-on working knowledge of the medium and equipment will be addressed throughout the course. Instructor will use a step-by-step approach to demonstrate watercolor painting techniques, including wet on dry, wet on wet, dry on wet, using salt, painting with a sponge, and more. Emphasis will be on problem-solving, skill building, and helping students develop a personal style. Specific techniques will be addressed to help students make decisions and work through and complete paintings. Once they built a solid foundation and keep practicing, they will be able to design a multitude of unique watercolor paintings of their own. Classes are highly interactive and students will have the opportunity to socialize and share their ideas in a fun and upbeat environment.
