Class Experience

Beginner Level
This is a single meeting, one time class that you can take as many times as you like. We will work on different projects at each class and the student will build on what they learned in previous classes.

I welcome learners of all identities and backgrounds into my classes.

We will use a pencil for some outlining, so be sure to have a couple of pencils with good erasers on hand. I use a second device to show my hands painting, so that they can follow along, so you will need "Gallery View" on Zoom. A laptop usually works best for Gallery View.

I will teach with a step by step method, so that the student can easily follow along.
The student can choose from a few options at each class, and also suggest something they would like to paint for next time, and I will do my best.
This class is designed to build confidence and self esteem, as well as foster creativity.

I will work with the student at their level and within their interests about art and painting. They have have some choices of what we can work on during each class.

Each class is individualized for the unique learner, in regards to skill level and interests.

This is a hands on, engaging art class. The student will practice their creative art skills and create some new drawings.
Usually the student will have a completed painting by the end of class, or a nearly completed painting that they can finish after class.

There will be some choices and options, as we go along, so that the student can cater the lesson to their own style.

My teaching style is relaxed and casual , with a focus on helping the student to build self esteem and confidence.
I strive to create a relaxing , encouraging atmosphere during class, to help the student to focus and to explore their artistic skills.

Art class teaches life skills including listening and following skills, as week as problem solving skills. Practicing art also helps to build self esteem and self confidence. Drawing is a great way for your learner to explore creativity, improvisation, and observational skills.

I will teach each drawing using a step by step process, so that the student can easily follow along. I will have them show their progress with the camera, as we are going along, so that I can help them along the way.
I will offer encouragement and listen to their ideas about what the art they are creating.

Bachelor's Degree from Towson University
I have been an Outschool teacher since May of 2020. I love teaching on Outschool and sharing my love of art and music with the students.
