Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
This fun class will help students bring out their inner artist while learning basic techniques in painting with watercolors as well as a few fun and interesting tricks. We will also be doing some drawing and planning of our own compositions.
I have been teaching in the art field since 2011 and have degrees in art, English and psychology. I am also a published children’s book illustrator.
My passion is inspiring kids to set their creativity free and grow through the experience.
No homework for this class.
-watercolor paper (12x16 size is only a recommendation and can really be done on various sizes but steps may have to be adapted for different sizes) -Watercolor Paint Palette with various colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, white (other colors can be used if student wants to be creative) -Colored Pencils set or Crayons (learner’s choice) -Paper Towels -Paper Plate -Pencil with eraser -Water cup -Black Sharpie Marker (permanent) -Brushes in various sizes (a large #10 Flat, a medium #12 Round, a small #4 liner) ***These brushes are only a recommendation and we can make different ones work if needed but it is important to have at least one larger brush for large areas and one smaller brush for details. -masking tape can be useful if student wants to tape their paper down while working but it is not at all required
Learner progress will be assessed informally. Every learner will be encouraged to share their art with the class if they choose.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
No parental guidance is needed for this class other than help setting up supplies before we begin.
