Class experience
In this two week watercolor class students will learn how to paint beautiful butterflies! As we paint our butterflies students will learn different watercolor techniques and vocabulary along the way. Watercolor Techniques Include: -Graded wash -Flat wash -Lift off -Wet in wet wash We will begin by tracing our butterfly in pencil from the template provided. In our first class session students will trace their butterfly onto watercolor paper using some sort of light source such as a window...
Students will not only leave this class with a beautiful watercolor painting of a butterfly but students will also learn basic watercolor techniques that they will be able to continue to use beyond this class. The goal for students in this watercolor class is to be able to take the techniques they have learned and continue to paint on their own.
I am a Fine Art Letterpress Stationer and Calligrapher. That’s a whimsical way to say I make very fancy wedding invitations using calligraphy, illustration, and old print method called letterpress. As much as I love working with my brides I have a passion for teaching art to children! The skills I teach my students in Outschool are skills that I am using in my business on a daily basis! I look forward to creating with you!
1 file available upon enrollment- PRINTED copy of the butterfly PDF (available in the classroom after student is enrolled) - Watercolors - Paint brush (I will be using a round 6 watercolor brush) - Watercolor Paper- It is important that students use specifically watercolor paper for this project. - Paper towel - Cup of water - Black Fine tip marker (optional) - Tape for holding down paper as we trace the butterfly (optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
