Class Experience

This is a fun mixed-media art class. Students will use watercolor and ink pen to paint and draw three silly bunnies. Students will have fun learning how to draw a bunny with hearts and triangles. Students will get to use their creativity to paint each bunny a different color and pattern. Students will practice fine motor skills and add the finishing touch to their painting by tracing the bunnies with an ink pen.

Class Layout:
We will start by drawing three bunnies using simple shapes - hearts and triangles.
We will add silly ears to each bunny.
We will paint each bunny a different color and pattern using watercolor.
We will then trace the bunnies with ink pen.

This class will be fun and students are free to talk with classmates.

*We will do our best to let the paper dry before tracing our bunnies. If the paper is too wet, I will ask the student to wait until it is dry to trace the bunny to prevent tearing the artwork

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I am Mrs. Alicia. I teach creative art classes. Creative art classes are classes that not only teach basic art skills but encourage and strengthen a child’s natural creativity.

My teaching style is laid back and light. I enjoy talking to my students and socializing is encouraged in my classes. I only ask that my students work while they talk so they can complete their project.

I encourage my students to try. Some of my projects are challenging but I remind students that very few people get it right the first time. Art takes practice and it is ok to try again.

I work with students on problem solving. Mistakes happen. What can you do to fix that mistake? Sometimes the mistake can be erased or turned into something else and sometimes it can’t. If the mistake can’t be fixed, then maybe the problem isn’t the mistake but how we look at it. Mistakes in art can create interest in our drawing or painting.

I have an associate degree in Early Childhood Education, which includes Early Childhood Credentials. I use the knowledge I gained while working towards my degree to create age-appropriate activities for my students. I also use this knowledge to create a fun classroom environment where every student feels welcome, included, and important.

I am so excited to share my love of art and the creative process with your children. Thank you for your interest in my classes.
