Class Experience

I worked as a librarian at a Waldorf school for six years working closely with grades 1-12 before transitioning to my teaching on Outschool. I teach Waldorf students and other students (including ESL) around the world now as a private reading and writing teacher. I have also taken private courses in archetypes and studied the work of Carl Jung as a B.S. Psychology student. I am also a published writer. I lived on a Navajo reservation for several summers. I also have Masters classes in Library Science, Human Services, as well as diversity training. I ran a middle and high school library at the Waldorf school where I taught creative writing, library, and research classes for six years.
Homework is outlined in class description. Students may want to work on their drawings/journals in between classes. Homework will not be more than an hour a week.
Drawing paper Writing paper Pencil Colored pencil Blank notebook/main lesson book/journal for taking notes, journal prompts, and drawings (if available)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will use youtube videos to listen to some of the bird calls.
I use Epic as my online library source for books referenced. I use a mix of Native Authors and retelling of other sources in order to provide age appropriate material. I am Raven is written by Métis author, David Bouchard and illustrated by west coast First Nations artist Andy Everson.
