In my Short Vowel Sounds class, children will be taught to recognize, produce, and blend short vowel sounds (A, E, I, O, U) to form simple words. We will cover key phonics skills such as letter-sound correspondence, CVC word blending, and sound identification. The class is structured around a 30-minute session that includes a mix of direct instruction, engaging activities, and review. I use the Montessori 3-period lesson approach, which involves introduction, recognition, and recall of the sounds, ensuring each child masters the material at their own pace. My teaching style is interactive and hands-on. I incorporate games, songs, slides, and visual aids to make learning engaging and memorable. Small group sizes (up to 6 learners) ensure that each child gets plenty of personal interaction and guidance.
Learning Goals
Students will identify and differentiate short vowel sounds in various words.
Students will accurately pronounce short vowel sounds when reading and speaking.
