In this class, students will learn about the different rotations, positions, and terminology associated with the game of volleyball. This is a great introductory class for those athletes looking to start something new, but it is also great for those young athletes on a team who need a little more time and explanation. This class is mostly lecture based, however, students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. I enjoy questions, and chances are that if you have a question about it, someone else in the class has one too! There is no experience required, and students will get to keep the handouts from the lesson.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the following:
Rotation: 6-2 and 5-1 Offense
Positions: Outside Hitter, Middle Blocker, Right Side Hitter, Setter, Libero, and Defensive Specialist
Common Terminology: Cut shot, line, top-spin, float, split, tip, push, quick
Other Details
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach writing classes for formal essays and practical uses, but also teach students about having CONFIDENCE in their writing. I have taught Language Arts for five years now, and I enjoy watching students learn the joy of writing and the ability they have. I believe that many students are capable of being skillful writers, but often times, they lack the smaller pieces to the puzzle. In my classes, we will break down the barriers to writing and have fun! After ten years, I have retired the coaching hat for volleyball and look forward to my new adventures - Coaching YOU on how to become a successful writer!
