Projects
1 hour per week. Students will be asked to practice for a minimum of 1 hour/week. Practicing sessions can be broken down into short sessions of 15 or 30 minutes each. I will guide students into adopting practices that best suit them. The practice of voice lesson materials includes performing warm-ups, breathing exercises, working on the repertoire assigned, and more. Students might be asked to provide certain information about the music they are preparing during our lessons to enhance their interpretation and performance.Class Experience
Beginner - Advanced Level
This course is intended to help students: • Develop a solid foundation of all facets of vocal technique: posture, physical coordination, breath management, resonance, articulation, and others; • Improve performance skills and musicality; • Prepare and perform songs, arias, musical theatre numbers, or any repertoire that is interesting to the student; • Set goals for the student's growth as a singer; • Establish a productive practice routine. Many activities will be employed throughout this course, such as: • Singing and performing warm-ups; • Selecting music that is appropriate to the student and their goals as a singer; • Researching, translating, and summarizing repertoire, with guidance from the voice instructor; • Listening to and watching live and recorded performances for reference; • Writing and dialoguing about singing, the journey toward the student's goals, and related topics. The very first Voice Lesson includes a short interview to get to know the student, their previous experiences with music and/or singing, and what they expect from this experience. We will also perform a few musical exercises and sing songs they might already know so I can evaluate their voice, understand how it works, and devise teaching strategies for the upcoming sessions.

Sources
Textbooks are not required for this course. To the best of my ability, I try to provide students with scores and accompaniment/karaoke tracks free of charge and/or extracted from Open Access sources. However, depending on the repertoire students wish to sing, they may need to purchase scores and/or accompaniment tracks. I will provide more guidelines and recommendations about sources throughout our Voice Lessons.
