1-2 hours per week. A multiple-choice Vocabulary worksheet, a Scrambled words Spelling Worksheet, and a Reading Comprehension fill-in-the-blank worksheet is assigned weekly. A sentence or story/article writing activity is assigned each week for students to practice using the newly learned vocabulary words in their writing.Assessment

Intermediate Level
This vocabulary course was designed for upper elementary and middle school students struggling with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling. Each week a new list of fifteen words is assigned. Each list includes a range of vocabulary words from 6th-8th grade levels. Two videos are released each week. Each video is around 20 minutes in length. A materials packet is provided in PDF format. The materials packet includes at least 4 worksheet activities, a word list with definitions, and answer keys. The class is supplemented by an online digital activity on Quizlet. These activities are customized to each weekly list. There are 20 weeks of content in this course, with each weekly unit containing a customized materials packet, two videos, and a digital activity. Students may submit their homework and expect feedback from the teacher within 24 hours. Learning Goals

Learning Needs
The method of instruction, for the spelling component of this class, is Phono-Graphix which is based on the Science of Reading and is Dyslexia-friendly.
Pre-Requisites
This class is appropriate for advanced 5th-grade students and 6th-8th graders.
Supply List
Students will need a vocabulary journal. This can be a spiral notebook, a composition book, or a 3-fastener folder with writing paper.
