Vocabulary Laboratory is a great way to expand your personal lexicon, so that you can get a higher score on the SAT and enjoy reading even the most challenging texts. This class encompasses 10 lessons, each with about 20 vocabulary words introduced in multiple activities and videos. Use the words in the context of learning more about arthropods and insects.Week 5Lesson 5Halfway Hurdle - How far have you come?Review the all the words from the first 4 lessonsWeek 6Lesson 6A Penchant for MeasurementLearn a set of words related to scientific measurement.Week 7Lesson 7Latent Powers EmergeLearn a set of words embedded in a unique superhero story. Also read an article on the movie Black Panther that includes some challenging vocabulary.Week 8Lesson 8Neither Negligent nor NegligibleLearn words that are easily confused. Also spend some collect some new words from an article on a professor from Argentina.Week 9Lesson 9The Valetudinarian's DaughterLearn 21 vocabulary words all from the first chapter of Jane Austen's novel Emma. You will have access to the full text, so you can continue to read as much as you like.Week 10Lesson 10Lexical Epilogue (The Last Word)A review of the full course
Students will learn 100+ new SAT-level vocabulary words, understand how they are used in context, and remember them for the long term.
