This 12-week online course is designed for teens to enhance their vocabulary through engaging and interactive activities. Each week will focus on a set of words, and students will learn their meanings, usage, and expand their word bank through fun and educational lessons. The course will include a combination of online sessions, self-study, and weekly vocabulary challenges to encourage word retention and application. Throughout the course, encourage students to maintain a personal vocabulary journal to record new words, their meanings, and example sentences. Weekly vocabulary quizzes or games will be included to review and reinforce what they've learned. Assignments: weekly vocabulary sets, with students, will create stories, poems, or other written pieces using the words learned. Additionally, provide a safe online platform for students to share their work and receive feedback from both the instructor and their peers. By the end of this 12-week course, students should have expanded their vocabulary, improved their understanding of words in context, and developed the skills to continue growing their vocabulary independently.

Root Words and Affixes
"Word Construction" - Break down words into root words and affixes. Create new words and discuss their meanings. 45 mins online live lesson

Context Clues
"Word Sleuths" -How to use context to understand unfamiliar words. Read short stories and find context clues. 45 mins online live lesson
