The class will begin with an explanation of who Vivien Thomas is. 2. We will read about some interesting facts about his life. 3. I will give a 5 minute lecture about the contributions that he made in medical history. 4. The class will be opened to discussion. Students will ask questions of me as well as their fellow students. In the materials section listed below you will find what the students will need for this class.

The movie has nothing to do with religion but has negative racial components. A notebook and pen or pencil to write down questions they may want to ask in class. (optional)
