Virtual Scavenger Hunt
In this one time class students will complete a scavenger hunt of different things around the house based on a description given.

During this one time class students will be given a description (e.g. something in your home that is round) they must go find something that meets that description and then bring it back to the class before time runs out. They will show the teacher and other classmates what they found, and we will all be sure the item is as described. This will help with motor skills, having students up and moving and getting their mind focused on description of different items. This will help with shapes, colors, counting, and more. I will have an example of the "description" (e.g. if I'm asking for the students to find something 'blue' I will have a blue object to show them prior to having them hunt for a blue item within their own home. This class will be an interactive, moving around the house type of class structure. Come ready to move. Students do not need any additional experience of knowledge for this class, because I will be modeling the description.

Welcome! I live in Virginia with my two precious boys Ashton, and Carson and a beloved partner of 17 years; Jeremy. I enjoy traveling, spending time with my kids, learning new things, and I especially enjoy teaching. Teaching has always been a dream of mine and I continue to find different enlightening avenues to fulfill this dream.
I have a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with a concentration in Elementary Education, Associates of Arts & Science, and a certificate in Surgical Technology.
I am a licensed teacher and taught 2nd grade for three years and will be teaching third grade this coming year.
I have experience in teaching students to read, write, and math skills.
I started my career as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), I then received my certificate in Surgical Technology (CST) and worked in the operating room for 5 years. Then I taught the clinical/lab portion of the Surgical Technology program at the community college level. I worked for a short time in a daycare/preschool setting teaching ages 3-5, which lead me to becoming a Special Education Teacher Assistant in an elementary school, teaching children from kindergarten to fifth grade, this position pathed the way for my current job as a public educator. I volunteered with the local Girl Scouts, for about 5 years, as a troop leader for girls ages 5-18.
I am hoping to teach a diverse group of classes touching on different areas of my expertise and career paths. I enjoy being in the classroom and working with all children, Outschool is just a different version of that classroom and I look forward to working with your child(ren) and enjoying a class(es) together here on Outschool.
