Grade 5: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.5.3 - Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences.
Grade 6: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.6.3 - Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences.

Persuasive Writing Emphasis (Weeks 3 & 4):

Learning Goal: Formulate persuasive arguments based on critical analysis and supporting evidence.
Common Core Standards:
Grade 4: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.4.1 - Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information.
Grade 5: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.5.1 - Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information.
Grade 6: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.6.1 - Write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence.

Literary Analysis and Interpretation:

Learning Goal: Analyze diverse literary sources to inform writing and interpretation.
Common Core Standards:
Grade 4: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.4.1 - Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences.
Grade 5: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.5.1 - Quote accurately from a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences.

I have a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature and a Diploma in Teaching Literacy in Primary and Secondary Schools.
I am currently studying an MA in English Literature and am a qualified English Language teacher with TEFL.
Homework Offered
One Nearpod lesson each week which includes presentation, warm up ELA activities, VR tour and writing assignments.
