Class Experience

This club is open to beginner collectors that are just starting out, and seasoned collectors as well! Only thing needed to join the club is an interest in Pokemon card collecting! Having your own cards is a plus, but not required. In this club, we will discuss valuable tips and tricks on card collecting and overall information on Pokemon card type and sets. Everyone can bring their cards to our sessions for show and tell, and even open packs online if they want to! Students should bring their questions about Pokemon cards, and must be willing to interact and share their knowledge about Pokemon with each other. Even if they just want to listen to learn more, they should be willing to ENGAGE by asking questions once in a while and positively commenting on each other's contribution so to build interaction and a sense of community!

As the teacher, I will share my personal collection and card collecting tips and tricks, including card storage safety, binder organization, value estimation of cards, and overall card knowledge. We will sometimes use video clips to learn about specific topics about card collecting. We will start our sessions off with a fun tip of the day OR card of the day and then a round robin for questions and discussion. Some sessions will be mainly show and tell, and other sessions will be mainly discussion and tips. Let's have FUN with it! Due to the nature of this club being learner led, the session content will change week to week dictated by the learners interests, questions and conversations.

As a long time teacher with a Masters in Instructional Design as well as an avid card collector, I realize that students need a place to share their common interests with a community that is just excited about their hobbies as they are! We will not actually play the Pokemon card game, but rather have a fun, laid back place to talk about Pokemon card collecting tips/tricks.

*Some students may be very advanced and depending on the session might not learn a new tip they didn't know before. However, they can share their knowledge with each other and someone can learn from them! The benefit of this club is the opportunity to learn something new as well as have a COMMUNITY and build FRIENDSHIPS with others interested in Pokemon card collecting!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their comprehension and knowledge of tips and tricks regarding Pokemon card collecting, new/vintage sets, careful card storage, value estimation of cards, and basic knowledge of the card game.

Hello!!
So excited to meet you! I teach classes that range from nerdy to artsy, ages 3-18. Currently, I teach these classes: babysitting, child development/psychology, fashion design, interior design, adulting 101, money and finances, sewing, cooking, study skills, career investigations, and more! I have a Masters of Education in instructional design.
My philosophy of teaching is to guide, encourage, support and cheer on the kids as they learn. I want my students to love learning and realize it can be fun! Interactive, relationships, projects, and humor are the key ingredients to my teaching style :)
In my free time I love to play with my kitties and work on their instagram page, as well as hang out with my husband! We collect Pokemon and Digimon cards together. Message me if you are interested in taking any classes. Looking forward to it!
