Video Editing Projects: Ongoing

Video editing is a skill which gets better by doing.  The projects in this ongoing course are designed to allow intermediate video editors an opportunity to consistently practice their editing skills.

In this ongoing course each week learners will complete a short film based on our topic or type.  This course is good for students who are already familiar with video editing and would like ongoing projects to keep their editing skills sharp through practice.  This class is also great for students who may want to build a portfolio of short films or enjoy sharing new work with others.  Each week is a stand-alone topic.  I will provide all project assets including video clips, music, and photographs. 

Each learner will have the opportunity to make their own creative decisions about how they will edit the project together, adding their personal touch.  For films which require narration I will provide a script which they can record in their own voice.  Learners may use the scripts “as-is” or they can add to/or modify based on any interesting facts they want to include.

Our weekly film types will vary based upon the week of the month.

1st week : Social practice (e.g Art History, dancing, cooking)
2nd week: Earth Science facts (e.g. Birds, Insects, The Universe)
3rd week: Mood Films
4th week: Color theory films

Week of Sept 4: Art History
Week of Sept 11th: Insects
Week of Sept 18th: Mood film
Week of Sept 25th: Blue


Each film's duration will range between 1-3 minutes when complete.

Any linear editing software will do (e.g. iMovie, Movavi, Premiere, Final Cut pro), updated and installed an your device of choice.
