Join me as we create a spooky mood film to share with family and friends. Mood Films are a great way to practice video editing and we can create them for any season. In this class, we’ll work as a group to assemble a spooky, chilly, fun video creation. Course agenda: - Brief introductions - What is a Mood Film? Discussion and examples - Software: iMovie - Pre-production (we'll talk about some of the visual elements of the spooky season) - Pulling clips (we'll take a look at a collection of stock footage and make creative decisions) - Editing full film Finishing up, exporting, and a discussion of ways to share our film. *** Every film we make is unique. This class is repeatable.
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to the artistic aspects of video editing. They will learn how to express themselves artistically through the construction of Mood Films.

Parental Guidance
The overall topic of Halloween carries spooky, scary connotations. I preview the video clips before each class to ensure the content is not aggressively scary. My video choices fall within the boundaries of G (general audience).

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I will demonstrate the edit using iMovie. If students would like to follow along they can use whatever editing software they have available to them. Students are also welcome to work solely with me by making the decisions while I execute the edit.
